Members of the public were invited to nominate individuals or groups who are doing great things within Thatcham’s community, so they could be formally recognised with a Civic Award 2021.
We were delighted to be recognised as a ‘Covid Hero’ for Pete’s tireless efforts in maintaining stock levels of many staples ensuring customers did not go short of items such as eggs, potato and pasta.
Pete travelled daily to Covent Garden in the early hours of each morning to secure groceries for the shielding community, sometimes travelling on more than one occasion each morning.
